Things are looking up. I am now back on my own computer. It has precious little on it, but I am slowly rebuilding. If you haven't e-mailed me yet, I encourage you to do so. I don't have much of an address book at this point.
I am giving Open Office a try. Are you familiar with it? It is an alternative to Microsoft Office. You can find out about it at OpenOffice.org. It is not exactly like Word, but very close. It is also free. If anyone has any experiences, good or bad, with it, please let me know. So far I have only made a few charts and school worksheets with it. So far so good.
I hope to be up and running here again soon. I have missed visiting with you all through the blog. It has been an odd new year. Wouldn't you agree?

Open Office is very, very good. Much better if you are going to be sending or receiving documents to people who may be using other platforms or other office suites.
Oh, you poor thing. What a tough time! I lost my computer once -- EVERYTHING. I was having some complex hard-drive issues, and was on tech support with a gal in India. The communication barrier was a thick one, and we could barely understand each other. At one point, almost weeping, I begged her to "do whatever it takes to save my computer!" Well, she literally did what I asked. Next thing you know she's reformatting my hard drive completely. When I realized what she had done, I began sobbing and asking her, "Why?!?!" She nonchalantly said, "You told me to do whatever it took! This is the surest way to get your computer back!"
Ugh. So I feel for you. At least you have some of it.

my life was wiped out. They are all gone, never to be seen again. It felt like a piece of me went with them, more of my flesh....but it's all good.
Once I got over the shock of it and the release to God I was OK.
I am glad you are on the road to recovery,
Have a blessed day,
Julie (from Georgia)
