At least I Can Grow Something.

Well, mushrooms and these.

Do you recognize them? I wouldn't except that I have a chilihead living in my house. Hubs is crazy for the heat. These are habeneros. They are some of the hottest peppers out there and I have a bush of them. The only food producing plant in the yard that is thriving, save my herbs. At least, Hubs won't starve.

Your hubby is a habeneros fan? Cool! I love habeneros too! One year I planted what I thought(at the time) was jalapenos but they turned out to be habeneros, and I planted 6 plants!!! They are very pretty lookin' too.

I have one jalapeno. We have gotten a few off of it, but this habanero has just grown like crazy.

I think habeneros grow well because everything that touches them dies. My kids think I have an iron stomach because I love jalapenos- but that's as far as I go.

A pepper story: In the first apartment we lived in, nearly 31 years ago, the people downstairs loved to grow various peppers and can them (in coffee jars) to give away. Their name was Bland. But for that one aspect of their lives they were, in every way, the perfect embodiment of the family name. The first picture Melinda wouldn't let me sell was of the Bland's pepper garden.
